I rented my first personal computer in 1982, so I am certainly not against technology even if I often get frustrated. Technology can be extremely useful in the classroom. There is, however, an important question we much ask. Why is using technology in the classroom a better solution? If you can identify the “why” then go ahead. If not, pause and rethink. Consult with others who have tried these solutions? Identify the advantages and disadvantages. Identify the training that you and the students need, and the infrastructure that needs to be in place.

Technology in itself doesn’t solve much. It’s about how it is used, for what purpose and for what reason. Identify that first.
