There are dozens and dozens of “nice” words we usually use to describe educational goals. Responsibility. Collaboration. Quality. Analytic. Meta-cognition. Motivation. Democratic. Participatory. Creativity. Leadership. Personal growth. This list could be very long.
These are “nice” words. Sounds great. I think any teacher would agree that nice words are not always easy to convert into daily routines and teaching practices.
For that to happen we need to start by really, really taking nice words seriously. What are the consequences and necessarily methods for promoting collaboration and personal responsibility? What do we mean? What do we do? How do we see it is happening?
